Born and raised in southern Maine, Leigh grew up in a large Italian family. She spent most of her time dancing, making home movies, and immersing herself in the outdoors. Following the footsteps of her Mom, Dad, and Nana, Leigh fell in love with capturing life moments on film. Wherever she went, a camera always tagged along.

After high school, Leigh moved to Miami Beach with her twin sister, Sara, where they pursued careers as professional ballet dancers. Leigh spent 12 years dancing with Miami City Ballet, traveling and performing in theaters around the world. After her retirement from the company in 2016, she moved back north to continue her performing career on Broadway, film, and television.

Leigh resides in the New York area, where she continues to freelance. Along with teaching future generations of dancers, she is welcoming more photographic opportunities into her life. She has photographed for multiple dance organizations, such as Columbia University, Skidmore College, Miami City Ballet, and New Jersey Ballet. You can also find her work published in Dance Magazine, Pointe Magazine, and National Geographic Traveler. Leigh’s most recent adventure behind the lens was co-directing her first dance film, entitled A Place For Us.

Leigh’s desire is to use photography and filmmaking as outlets to expose the human experience.

“It is important to me to reveal life’s micro-moments. They hold an incredible amount of beauty, and often go unseen. We are constantly surrounded by these tiny treasures, and not a lot of people take the time to notice them. They help us remember that life is wild, weird, wonderful, and ours.”
